ED launched raids against Kolkata businessman Amit Agrawal and builder Vishnu Agrawal in the Army land scam in Jharkhand.

The central investigating agency is in action- search operation. This time the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has picked up an old case connected with fraudulent sale and purchase of land in possession of the Indian Army in Bariatu, Ranchi, capital city of Jharkhand.

The ED’s began the day on Friday by launching the raid against Kolkata based businessman Amit Agrawal and another businessman Vishnu Agrawal in the matter related to the Army land scam.

Amit Agrawal,who has been connected with the CM Hemant Soren and was in jail, was responsible for the arrest of the Jharkhand High Court lawyer Rajiv Kumar.

Kumar was arrested by the Kolkata police on July 31 based on a complaint by Amit Agrawal, who, according to the Indian Express report dated October 11,2022,had alleged that he “ was coerced” to bribe the lawyer. Who coerced him? The answer is known to the ED sleuths who are seem to suspect  “he was the CM Soren.”

Though it is not known what financial transactions were made by him, the ED had presented Amit Agrawal in PMLA court in Ranchi and alleged that the “ proceeds of the crime” in the alleged “1000 crore illegal mining case”,which allegedly involved CM Soren’s aide Pankaj Mishra,who is also in jail, were “ laundered” through Agrawal’s companies, according to the same report of the Indian Express.

As per the information, acres of land under occupation of the Indian army in Bariatu, Ranchi,was sold on the basis of forged documents.” We have seized documents”, said a source in the central agency having its office near Ranchi airport.
