Tension prevails in Chakradharpur in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand where a 36-year-old man was killed on Saturday evening.

No arrest was made by the police so far. The victim was identified as Kamaldev Giri who, according to the police, had launched a local outfit called ‘Giriraj Sena’.

Some eyewitness reports say Giri was shot dead. But a section of the police. Others claim he died due to the blast of a bomb. The police say that he sustained a head injury resulting in his death. What is the source of this head injury was not clear yet as the post-mortem report was not made public till now.

The FIR filed at Chakradharpur police station states that the incident had occurred around 6-6.30 pm in the main market area of Chakradharpur.

While the state BJP President Deepak Prakash said that Giri was its party worker, the police have denied it.” We want a high-level probe”, said Prakash blaming the Hemant Soren government for failing to maintain law and order in the state.
