For the first time, a ban has been imposed on the entry of a woman without a husband into a house of worship in the country.

The ban has been imposed on the woman who comes alone to the country’s famous site of worship-Jama Masjid. 

On Thursday its management barred the entry of women “who come alone” and use it as a place to “meet boys”. 

“There is no restriction on the entry of women,” Jama Masjid PRO Sabiullah Khan has said.

 “The restriction is for women who come here alone, give time to men, do wrong things, make videos.” He clarified that women would be permitted to come with their husbands or families.
