A battle of bullets is on in forest areas of Chaibasa in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district. Two security forces who were injured were airlifted and brought to Ranchi for treatment at RIMS hospital.

Though Maoists were reportedly injured or killed, none of them were identified so far.The encounter has taken place in between Maoist infested  Tonto and Goilkera police station area.

Reports say security forces had given appropriate response.” Additional security forces were sent to track and deal with Maoists”, said a senior police officer posted in Chaibasa.

Two injured jawans belonged to Cobra battalion. Senior police officers have reached the site located in dense forest.

“ To deal with Maoists( Left Wing Extremists), security forces were carrying anti- Maoist operation for long”, said another senior IPS officer who does not want to be named.

During the previous search operations,some camps of Maoists were demolished.Last month, security forces had recovered two feet long Codex, two mobile phones, battery, Naxal literature, Malaria kit and surgical items .
