Maoist ultras  had made their presence felt by triggering a blast. Five CRPF jawans were injured in an IED blast triggered  at a jungle under the Tonto police station area of West Singhbhum district about 110 km away from Jamshedpur.They were airlifted and admitted for treatment at a private Medica hospital  in Ranchi.This was on January 11.

Today, since health condition of four of them had deteriorated, they were airlifted and taken to New Delhi.

These paramilitary forces were carrying out a search operation for the naxals who were reportedly hiding.After the explosion took place, the forces were also fired at  by the Maoists. In the exchange of fire and IED blast,these five jawans were injured.

“After the IED explosion was triggered, additional number of paramilitary forces had rushed at the Sarjamburu forest”, said a senior police officer.“Five jawans were injured in the explosion. They have been air-lifted to a hospital in Ranchi. The operation is still on, ” said an official.
