The body of a UP based Lanka, Varanasi boy Shivam Pandey,23, who was a student,was found hanging from his room on fifth floor of the Indian Institute of Management,Ranchi’s hostel.

No note found.“ His hands were tied by a piece of rope”, said the police.The body was found on Monday night. The police was informed and body sent for post mortem.

The body has been sent for post mortem. While the post mortem report is awaited, the police has remained tight lipped about the case.

The IIM Ranchi campus is located in on the outskirts of Ranchi area under jurisdiction of the Nagri Police station. 

The IIM Ranchi is Co-Ed where boys and girls study. The police is investigating whether he committed suicide or was murdered due to any live affair.

The IIM Ranchi management has informed parents of the deceased who are residents of Lanka, a place in Varanasi in front of the Banaras Hindu University which plays a role of real Lanka while Dussehra mela is held every year in Ramnagar.
