Maoists in West Singhbhum district continued to pose a challenge to security forces who were involved in search operations in its forest areas covering the border of Jharkhand and Odisha.
This resulted in one casualty today when A CRPF sub-inspector was injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) reportedly went off during an anti-Maoist operation in a forest there.
According to West Singhbhum SP Ashutosh Shekhar, the injured CRPF man was airlifted to a hospital in Ranchi.
Reports said an IED explosion incident occurred in the forest near Anjanbeda village under the Muffasil Police Station limits when a team of security personnel was conducting the operation.
