Three central reserve police force (CRPF) jawans were injured on Thursday in an IED blast allegedly triggered by Maoists in Meralgada area falling under the jurisdiction of Goilkera police station in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

All three injured CRPF jawans were airlifted and brought to be admitted in a hospital in Ranchi.

This is the fourth similar incident involving IED blasts in the Kolhan area covering iron ore mines of the Steel Authority of India and Tata Steel during the past two months.

“An operation is on since Wednesday. Around early morning, an IED was triggered by the Maoists in which three jawan got injured. The three have splinter injuries”,a senior West Singhbhum official said.
