Police have launched a probe into the case involving a firing incident resulting in the death of two police persons who served as bodyguards of a fish trader in Jharkhand’s Deoghar town.

“We are trying to know if they were killed in firing or in an encounter”, said a police officer.

The incident of gun firing took place on Shyamganj Road near Patel Chowk in Deoghar on Saturday night when two cops were serving as bodyguards for a local businessman were killed by unidentified attackers.

When contacted DIG Sudarshan Mandal confirmed that two cops deployed as bodyguards of Deoghar-based Fishermen were killed in ‘firing’ last night.
