Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been conducting Financial Literacy Week (FLW) every year since 2016 to propagate financial education messages on a particular theme across the country. 

The theme for this year’s Financial Literacy Week (FLW) 2023 is “Good Financial Behaviour: Your Saviour”, which will be observed from February 13-17, 2023. 

The two messages of this year’s Financial Literacy Week are: 

(a)    Saving, Planning and Budgeting.

(b)    Prudent use of digital financial services.


Financial Literacy (FL) Week was formally inaugurated in Jharkhand on February 13, by Shri Sanjiv Sinha, GM (OiC), RBI Ranchi.

During his address, he highlighted the theme and messages of the FL week and its importance for the public. During this week financial literacy counsellors will organize financial literacy camps across the state. 

Reserve Bank of India, Ranchi organized a quiz competition for school children to spread financial literacy and awareness among school students. 

Further, under the Scaling up of the CFL project, new 44 CFLs were inaugurated. With this 88 CFLs have become operational in the state of Jharkhand which will promote and spread financial literacy in all (264) blocks of the state.

State heads of State Bank of India, Bank of India, Indian bank, Canara bank, Union Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, DGM of NABARD and Chairman, Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank (JRGB) were present during the inaugural event.
