Several railway stations in Jharkhand are planned to be modernized under the Modi government’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Keeping in view the needs and necessities of passengers, these stations are planned to be made ‘world-class.

’These stations falling under the Asansol rail division are Kumardobhi, Giridih, Deoghar, Madhupur, Basukinath, Dumka, Shankarpur, Jamtara, and Vidyasagar stations.

Asansol Rail Division’s Public Relations Officer Amitabh Chatterjee told News 18 Local that under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, development is the aim. 

The development means roads connecting stations, station circulating areas, waiting rooms, toilets, lift/ accelerator, cleanliness, free Wi-Fi facilities will be provided in these stations.

In addition, the shop sells local goods under the umbrella of ‘One Station One Product’,modern information centre, executive lounge, banquet hall, and special facilities for passengers with a disability.

When asked Chatterjee to News 18 correspondent that works to upgrade these stations will begin soon.
