The 2023-24 budget session of the Jharkhand Assembly began today with Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan delivering his speech appreciating the works done by the state government led by CM Hemant Soren.

His speech mentioned several works done by the Hemant Soren government during the Coronavirus period and after to deal with providing agriculture development, relief to victims of human trafficking, unemployment, fishery, and so on.

Governor Radhakrishnan spoke in Hindi and concluded by seeking pardon saying “ if I have committed any mistake”.

As per schedule, the Soren government is slated to submit Economic Survey Report 2023-24 on March 2.

The next day, the state finance minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon will table the annual budget 2023-24 in the Assembly.

The Economic Survey brings out the economic trends in the state and facilitates a better appreciation of the mobilization of resources and their allocation in the State's Annual Budget. The Survey analyses the trends in agricultural and industrial production, infrastructure, employment, money supply, prices, etc have a bearing on the economy of the state.

During the budget session, there will be 17 working days.
