Jharkhand High Court today granted bail to Dulu Mahto, BJP MLA from Bhagmara from where he was elected for three consecutive terms. 

With the bail granted by Jharkhand High Court,  Mahto is expected to come out of jail soon.

Mahto was in jail on various charges including attempt to murder, ransom, and illegal possession of arms On January 9, 2023, he had surrendered in connection with a 2913 case of attacking policemen and freeing one of his aides from their custody and was sent to jail.

Prior to this on October 9, 2018, the trial court had convicted him and four others in the case and sentenced them to 18 months of imprisonment.
