Ranchi district administration has imposed 144 CrPC in 87 areas to maintain law and order in the wake of the Matric- Intermediate examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council.

Section 144 was imposed as a preventive measure to contain nuisance or apprehended danger of some event that has the potential to cause trouble or damage to human life or property.  

The orders to impose Section 144 have been confirmed to Executive Magistrate by Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha. Section 144 will remain in force in these areas till April 3.

The Sadar SDO of Ranchi has notified Section 144 in 87 areas connected with examination centres. At around 200 metre area of each of these examination centres, 5 or more persons will not be allowed to gather between 6.45 am and 4.05 pm on April 15,16,17,18,20,21,22,24,27,29 March and April 3.

Alongside, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha has authorised executive magistrates and SSP Kishore Kaushal. The prime aim of this administrative measure is to prevent copying, cheating and gathering of people at the examination centres.
