Any resident of Jharkhand who has passed the Class 7 examination can apply for Home Guard ( Rural) posts and those aspirants who want to apply for Hime Guard ( Urban) posts should have passed the Class 10 examination from a relevant board.

Already, Jharkhand Home Defense Corps has invited applications from candidates for Home Guard posts. The age limit of the candidate should be between 19 to 40 years. 

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official site of Jharkhand Home Defense Corps at recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in. This recruitment drive will fill up 1501 posts in the organisation.

The registration process will begin on April 25 and will end on May 9, 2023. Read below for eligibility, selection process and other details. 

Notably, Home Guards’ is a state government-run voluntary force, first raised in India in December 1946, to assist the police in controlling civil disturbance and communal riots. Its number was increased after 1962 Indio - China war.

In Jharkhand,many home guards were deployed in official residences of IAS officers. They were stationed at the state secretariat and Jharkhand Civil Service Officers Institute.

The recruitment is based on a selection process comprising a medical test, Hindi writing test and technical knowledge.
