These Jharkhand towns - Barharwa, near Rajmahal- Sahebgunj,Lohardaga and Godda are among 84 districts in 18 states and 2 UTs of the country where FM radio was launched virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

Already seven towns and cities including Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Bokaro in Jharkhand had FM radio connectivity. With the today’s mega launch, more than 2 crore more people in remote areas spread over 35,000 sq kms, have gained access to FM radio voice.

Notably, FM radio not only provides news, songs and  other communication in local languages, but also promotes community culture, arts and crafts.

No wonder why the virtual launch of FM radio through 91 new All India Radio FM transmitters by the PM Narendra Modi is expected to boost radio connectivity in the country.

In a statement, Press Information Bureau,said:
“The government has been committed to enhance FM connectivity in the country. The 91 new 100 W FM transmitters have been installed in 84 districts across 18 States and 2 Union Territories”.
