Responding to complaints filed by people, an anti-illegal mining operation was launched across Jharkhand.

Due to illegal mining, the state government was at a loss of revenue. After complaints were registered, the state government woke up.

It set up a task force comprising mining department officials and the police at district and block levels. The police task force launched raids and seized vehicles involved in the illegal mining of sand at several places on April 29.

According to the police, 309 vehicles were seized and 39 persons were arrested. Also, several sand spots were closed.” Many illegal miners protested and hit police.”

Six policemen were reportedly injured in these incidents.
