Politics over the Odisha rail tragedy continues. This time Congress has questioned the Narendra Modi government and the Railways seeking a CBI probe into the Odisha railway tragedy.
What the Congress says is that the CBI probe was part of the government-run railway’s move as “headlines management.”
Records show that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had announced on Sunday evening that a CBI probe had been recommended into the train accident case.
Vaidhnaw had indicated that possible “ sabotage” and tampering with the interlocking system, which detects the presence of trains, had led to the horrific accident involving the Shalimar- Chennai Central Coromandel Express, the Bengaluru- Howrah Superfast Express, and a goods train.
But the Congress suspects and criticized the government. Its general secretary Jairam Ramesh said on Twitter:"Even before the Commissioner of Railway Safety has submitted his report on the Balasore train disaster, a CBI inquiry is announced."
This is nothing but “headlines management” having failed to meet deadlines, Jairam Ramesh said on Twitter.
