The arrest of four auto drivers revealed that they abducted two girls and gang-raped them for 16 days.

The FIR, filed by the parents of these two girls on June 29, a week after they were abducted, states that these two girls from Barwadih block of Latehar district had gone to hand over a pack of clothes to their friends in neighbouring Garhwa district by train. 

At the Garhwa railway station, they were allegedly abducted by four auto drivers. This was on June 21.

Alongside, when these girls did not return home, their parents claimed to have searched from pillar to post and not found them for over a week, lodged the FIR giving their mobile numbers.

The police had kept their mobile phones on surveillance. On the basis of the location of their mobiles, the Latehar police launched raids and recovered them.

“They abducted and then gang raped them for 21 days”, alleged the police adding that four accused were auto drivers. One of them had a criminal background.
 
Dillu Lohra, SDPO, Latehar, told media persons that these four accused were identified and sent to jail on charges of abduction and rape.

These accused were Ritik Naorang, Ajay Kumar Keshri, Ashish Kumar, and Kunal Kumar Gupta who were arrested and jailed in the Jalandhar district of Punjab on charges of the Arms Act.
