Two days after the murder of CPI (M) leader Subhash Munda in Ranchi on Wednesday night, the Special Investigating Team has disclosed its findings indicating that the cause of the crime was linked with land deal.

Sources say that minutes before he was shot dead inside his office in Daladali located on the outskirts of Ranchi,Munda had received a call asking him whether he is in his office.

“ When he replied that he is in his office, the shooters arrived and two of them opened fire. He had died on the spot”, said a source who is investigating the case and who does not want to be identified.

Two, recovery of cell data from the mobile phone of the deceased, the SIT appears confident to resolve the case.

Two, Munda and murders were learnt to be engaged in a land dispute. 

The SIT officials informed that they had examined the closed- circuit CCTV footage of the area. “ These CCTV footage show that four persons had come to CPI( M) leader Munda’s office by bikes. Since the criminals had covered their head with mask, they are yet to be identified”, said another SIT officer.

In any case,the SIT is investigating the case from different angels and trying to find if Munda had land dispute with any person.
