After a long spell of murder cases and protests by the opposition BJP in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today made public the status of his caste-based survey in the state.

CM Kumar said the caste-based survey has been completed and the state government would soon make the data public.

Ahead of the general elections, he asserted that “the caste survey would be beneficial for all sections of the society.”

Talking to media persons, Kumar said, "The caste-based door-to-door survey is over. The data are being processed and complied and it will be made public.”

CM Nitish Kumar may use caste-based survey reports to demand quota and benefits of government schemes on the basis of it and thereby try to mobilise caste-centric votes in Bihar.
