She and her fiancée were out on an evening walk when a group of rapists pounced on them. 

This 22-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand.  

According to police, the horrific incident took place near Barijal village in the Mufassil police station area on Thursday evening when the couple was out for a stroll, it is learnt. 

After allegedly raping her, the group of men took her bag and mobile phone with them, leaving her at the secluded place, the police informed. The fiancee somehow managed to escape from the spot and called the police. 

A police team reached the spot, and after providing her medical aid, she was sent to the Sadar Hospital for treatment. 

West Singhbhum SP Ashutosh Shekhar said, responding to the inputs provided by the victim girl, police arrested five persons from Kitaguttu village on Friday and sent them to jail on Saturday. 

Police also recovered the bag and mobile phone. A case has been filed, and an investigation is underway.
