The Ranchi based court of special CBI Judge Prabhat Kumar Sharma has awarded life term to Ranjit Kohli alias Raqibul Hassan alias Ranjit Kohli and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000. 

 Also, Hassan’s mother Kaushar Rani 
Rani was sentenced 10 years imprisonment with a fine of Rs 5 thousand. 

They were sent to jail on Thursday. In addition, Jharkhand High Court Ex Registrar( Vigilance) Mushtaq Ahmad who allegedly “helped” and “ protected” the accused Hassan was sentenced 15 years imprisonment with a fine of Rs 50,000. The three were convicted on complaint filed by Tara Shahdeo, national shooter,in conversion case. 

She had petitioned to the court that the three convicted -Shahdeo’s husband Ranjit Kohli alias Raqibul Hassan had provided false information regarding his religion and tricked her into marriage.

Later, when she filed complained,his mother Kaushar Rani and Mushtaq Ahmed supported him fraudulently.She had also accused Hassan of torturing for refusing to convert to Islam.  

The CBI had taken over the investigation in 2015 and registered a case in Delhi had petitioned to the court that the convict had provided false information regarding his religion and tricked her into marriage.
