Fund starved people of Jharkhand who have kidney failure, or end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and need dialysis need not worry.

They are going to get a dialysis facility at the Ranchi-based state government-run hospital- RIMS. 

This dialysis unit is going to start operating under Public-Private Partnership mode inside the RIMS’ Department of Nephrology. 

The state Minister Banna Gupta on October 31. RIMS Director Dr.Rajiv Gupta informed that the 25-bed dialysis unit will be in addition to the old dialysis unit already existing. 

At this new dialysis unit of RIMS, Ayushman Bharat cardholders and cardholders of Mukhya Mantri Gambhir Bimari Yojna will get benefits free of cost. 

For other patients falling under the general category, dialysis will be provided at a cost of Rs 1341. 

Notably, RIMS is slated to get a new library, yellow fever vaccination centre, trauma and radiology centre as well as av guest house for attendees of patients. 

Minister Banna Gupta is scheduled to inaugurate all these units at a go on the last day of October 2023- Tuesday.
