Supreme Court has not provided relief to the suspended IAS officer and accused of money laundering Pooja Singhal. After hearing her bail petition the apex court placed it for hearing on December 1.

This means Pooja  Singhal will have to spend time behind the high walls of the Birsa Munda Central jail in Ranchi during the annual festivals of Diwali and Chhath.

Records show that this suspended IAS officer was arrested on charges of money laundering by the Enforcement Directorate in Ranchi on May 11, 2022.

After she was denied bail by the PMLA court and the Jharkhand High Court, Singhal had moved to the top court. In response, the SC had fixed October 31 for its hearing.

However, the top court did not provide and relief. Even today it preferred to hear her plea on December 1, 2023.
