Ashok Sao, who was arrested on charges of firing on Congress leader Prakash in Hazaribagh on Friday evening, was sent to jail on Saturday. 

According to the police, the Prakash, State Unit General Secretary ( OBC Cell) was shot at by a gang of five men led by Ashok Sao at Korra area of Cannery hill in Hazaribagh where he had bought a plot of land. 

The construction work was taking place.When Prakash reached the same site, Ashok Sao, who was identified as land mafia,was present there with his 
5-member strong gang. 

Soon,they entered into a high pitched verbal argument. “ The heated argument resulted in firing. Sao’s man shot at him”, said the police quoting an eyewitness. 

 Prakash was brought and admitted at a hospital in Ranchi where he is undergoing treatment. 

Though Sao was arrested, his five other gang men were absconding. The police has launched search operation to nab them.
