Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, is now home to the largest butterfly park in eastern India. 

No joke, this.It is worth visiting to experience life with flying creatures on earth. It was inaugurated on Tuesday( November 7,2023).

The park, located inside the Birsa Munda Biological Park,20 km from Ranchi along NH 33,is kiteralky a haven for butterflies and nature lovers alike. Here the butterfly park covers an area of 1.5 acres. It hosts more than 50 species of butterflies, including some rare and endangered ones. 

 Any visitor can stroll through the park’s lush green gardens and marvel at the colorful butterflies fluttering by. The park also has a butterfly museum, a breeding center, a nectar garden, and a host plant nursery. 

 Asked how he describes it, a visitor said:”The butterfly park is more than just a place to see butterflies. It is also an educational center that teaches visitors about the importance of butterflies in the ecosystem. Butterflies play a vital role in pollination, helping to ensure that plants can reproduce.” 

 Eco scientists say butterflies serve as a food source for birds and other animals. For visitors, this marvellous butterfly park is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day, except on Mondays. 

The entry fee is Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children. The park is expected to attract tourists and nature lovers from across the state and beyond.
