It’s part of a massive outreach programme designed to mobilise people, especially adivasis, ahead of the General Elections 2024. 

No wonder why for the first time,Ranchi will witness the road show of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the eve of the Birth Anniversary day of tribal hero Birsa Munda.  

This day - November 15 marks the establishment day of Jharkhand when the state government celebrates its foundation day. 

While the 23rd foundation day of Jharkhand will be celebrated with pomp and show, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will welcome PM Modi at the Birsa Munda airport, Ranchi on November 14. 

By deciding to do so,Soren who has been facing Enforcement Directorate’s sword on his head over his alleged involvement in money laundering connected with land scam has raised many an eye brow.The answer is still enveloped under the blanket of rumours that “ Kuch to Baat Hai( There is something behind it).

In any case, from the site of the airport to the Raj Bhawan, nearly 10 km distance, will be covered by the PM Modi for holding his road show. As per the schedule, PM will arrive at 9 pm and will go to the Raj Bhawan while holding a roadshow. 

As per the security plan, the PM’s roadshow will be split in eight places en route to the Raj Bhawan though there is no break of his vehicle any where. 

The Special Protection Group,especially raised in 1985 with the intention to provide proximate security cover to the Prime Minister,has already arrived to take security measures in consultation with the State government. The SPG and the state government police will make the final itinerary. 

A day after, Modi is scheduled to pay homage to the celebrated tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda at Ulihatu in Khunti district, 65 km from here, on his birth anniversary, declared by the Central government as ‘Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas’. Jharkhand was created on November 15 in 2000 to coincide with Birsa Munda’s birthday. 

Birsa Munda was a young freedom fighter and a tribal leader, whose spirit of activism in the late nineteenth century, is remembered to be a strong mark of protest against British rule in India. Before flying to Ulihatu on November 15, Modi is scheduled to visit Bhagwan Birsa Munda Museum in Ranchi. 

The museum containing a 25-foot statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, highlights his contribution along with other tribal freedom fighters. Modi had inaugurated the museum on November 15, 2021. 

The museum was built by the Union Tribal Affairs ministry in association with the State Government of Jharkhand at the Old Central Jail in Ranchi, where Bhagwan Birsa Munda had sacrificed his life. 

After paying homage to Birsa Munda and interacting with his descendants, Modi will launch the ‘Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ on November 15 at Khunti. 

This yatra will cover 2.5 lakh gram panchayats and 3700 urban. local bodies at more than 14,000 locations with more than 2500 IEC vans. 

The yatra will start from tribal areas and will last for two months. PM Modi is slated to address a rally in Khunti and interact with the descendants of Birsa Munda.He will be accompanied by top BJP functionaries including Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda and Babulal Marandi. 

Modi will also inaugurate the new campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi online. Besides, the newly constructed buildings of IIT-ISM Dhanbad are also to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
