After quitting JMM and joining the BJP on March 19, Sita Soren is busy strengthening the saffron party in the Dumka Lok Sabha constituency.
Infact, much before she switched sides from JMM to BJP, Sita Soren was in touch with BJP leaders including Dr. Nishikant Dubey who was in logger head with the then CM Hemant Soren.
“Nishikant Dubeyji is working day and night to widen support - base of the BJP. Sita Soren is hand in glove with Dubeyji”, says an insider within the BJP.
Dumka has six Assembly constituencies - 1.Sikaripara represented by JMM MLA Nalin Soren;2.Nala represented by JMM MLA Ravindra Nath Mahto;3.Jamtara represented by Congress’s Irfan Ansari;4. Dumka represented by JMM MLA Basant Soren; 5. Jama represented by JMM MLA Sita Soren who has quit JMM and joined BJP; and 6. Sarath represented by BJP MLA Randhir Kumar Singh.
This means that JMM has three MLAs and it’s ally Congress one MLA whereas the BJP has two including Sita Soren who had quiet as MLA.
Sunil Soren of the BJP had won Dumka Lok Sabha seat by defeating the JMM’s patriarch Shibu Soren by a margin of over 47,000 votes in 2019.This had prevented Shibu Doren from becoming the eight-time MP from Dumka.
Sita Soren is daughter-in-law of JMM chief Shibu Soren and wife of late Durga Soren. She was accused of receiving money in voting in 2012 Rajya Sabha election and was in jail for seven months.
She is now out on bail. However, after she joined the BJP, the Union Home Ministry had provided Z plus security to Sita Soren.
