In a mind boggling case,a boy hatched a conspiracy with his friend and got himself ’kidnapped’to extract money for merry making on the Republic Day.

Investigations by the police revealed that Sohail,younger brother of Sahjad Ahmad,went missing after he left home at 2.30 p.m .in Sahebgung on Tuesday.

The same evening at 7.30 p.m.Ahmad received a call on his cell phone,that Sohail was kidnapped and if he wanted his release from the captivity of the kidnappers,he should hand over Rs 40,000 to a person at the earliest.

Ahmad and his family members immediately informed the police.On Wednesday morning at 10 a.m.Ahmad again received a call demanding Rs 40,000.

Subsequently,after checking the location of the caller from the SIM provider,the police zeroed in on Sohail and his friend and nabbed them from near the stadium in Sahebgunj.

During their interrogations by the police,both admitted they had hatched a conspiracy.”Sohail had got himself kidnapped to emotionally blackmail his parents and collect Rs 40,000 cash from them as levy”,said Sahebgunj SP A.Vijay Laxmi.
