BJPs Ranchi Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth on Thursday lauded NCC cadets. 

Seth was in Kolkata. He visited the NCC Directorate, West Bengal and Sikkim. Expressing his sentiments, Seth praised NCC cadets for their “selfless commitment” to society and the nation at large.
 
“They reflect their acts of nationalism and unity in diversity”, said Seth. 

As it is, National Cadet Corps( NCC), a Tri-Services Organisation comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, is engaged in grooming the youth – 'The Leaders of Tomorrow' – into disciplined and patriotic citizens. As a voluntary organization, NCC is administered through the Ministry of Defence. 

Organisationally, the NCC is headed by the Director General (DG), an officer of three-star rank. The DG is assisted by two Additional Director Generals (A and B) of two-star rank (major-general, rear-admiral or air vice-marshal). Five Brigadier level officers and other civil officials also assist him. 

The national Headquarters is located in Delhi.In all there are 96 Group Headquarters in the country who exercise control over a network of 700 Army wing units (including technical and girls unit), 73 Naval wing units and 64 Air Squadrons. 

There are two training establishments namely Officers Training School, Kamptee (Nagpur, Maharashtra) and Women Officers Training School, Gwalior. Besides this Vice Chancellor's of various universities across India are conferred with honorary rank of commandant in NCC, to promote and support NCC in their respective University. 

 The Kolkata is the Headquarter office of West Bengal and Sikkim units of the NCC where Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth had landed to express confidence in in the future of the NCC and its pivotal role in shaping disciplined and patriotic citizens, a defence official said. 

Also during his visit to the NCC Directorate West Bengal and Sikkim, Seth appreciated the directorate's efforts in training, social welfare and community development initiatives across the two states of WB and Sikkim.
