The Transport Department in Jharkhand, in collaboration with the state for e-Governance, has to develop samples of smart cards for beneficiaries of the Mukhya Mantri Gram Gadi Yojna.

The beneficiaries are proposed to be identified and selected on the basis of their socio- economic status including those above 60- years of age, students, both boys and girls, mentally and physically disabled( above 40 percent ), HIV affected patients, women drawing widow pension and state government recognised Jharkhand Agitationists.

However, these smart cards will be delivered to beneficiaries after the state cabinet gives its nod on July 24 or 26. The state Minister of Road Transport Minister, Deepak Birwa has approved the ambitious Mukhya Mantri Gram Gadi Yojna.

The brain behind the scheme is CM Hemant Soren. Already 83 newly purchased buses were running in 23 districts minus Lohardaga. The efforts were being made to connect remote rural areas where rural residents had to walk for miles to reach their destinations.

This is bound to benefit scores of people in rural belt of Jharkhand. The state government has been operating govtkiyojna.com/mukhyamantri-gram-gadi-yojana not only to apprise people of this scheme for the rural resident, but also seek applications for beneficiaries.
