Former Chief Justice of India and Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission HL Dattu on Thursday observed that the Jharkhand Government is aware of its responsibility to deal with cases of human rights violation of the people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Jharkhand and its performance toward this end was satisfactory.
Justice Dattu said that NHRC is taking cognizance of the human rights violation cases and reviewing the action taken by the state governments in this regard.He was interacting with the media persons in Ranchi on Thursday.
He informed that NHRC chairperson and its member Justice C.Joseph and Justice D.Murgesan and Justice SC Sinha had heard 15 cases.Six cases were disposed off and order was issued to pay compensation of Rs nine lakh to victims.
