The Jharkhand High Court on Friday rejected the bail petition of Virendra Ram’s Charted Accountant Neeraj Mittal and his Assistant Ram Prakash Bhatia.
Both Charted Accountant Neeraj Mittal and his Assistant Ram Prakash Bhatia are facing the charges of making investment of funds illegally earned by suspended chief engineer Virendra Ram.
They were arrested and made accused in the tender commission case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. With the high court rejecting their petition seeking bail, the investigation into their case lodged by the ED continued.
While suspended Chief Engineer Virendra had sought bail, his father Genda Ram and wife Rajkumari Devi had sought interim bail.Their bail petitions were also rejected by the court.
On February 22, 2923 the ED had arrested former chief engineer Virender Ram in the disproportionate assets case.
A day before this, on February 21, the ED had raided 24 locations of Virendra Ram. During the raid, the ED had recovered documents related to investments worth crores in several cities of the country, including jewelry worth about one and a half crores.
