Shri V. Somanna, Minister of State for Railways and Jalshakti, conducted an in-depth inspection of Deoghar in Jharkhand-based Jasidih Station in Asansol Division over Eastern Railway today (14.09.2024) to evaluate the current status of passenger amenities and to formulate a strategic plan for their enhancement.
This visit underscores the Railway’s commitment to improving rail infrastructure and passenger experience. Accompanied by Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager of Eastern Railway, and the Divisional Railway Manager of Asansol, along with Branch Officers from the Asansol Division, Shri V. Somanna, the Minister of State for Railways and Jalshakti inspected ongoing redevelopment work at Jasidih Station.
The visit of the Minister at Jasidih Station included an evaluation of construction progress and discussions with field staff to address any challenges or concerns related to the project.
A PowerPoint presentation on major upgradation and integrated re-development of Jasidih Railway Station was also showcased. During the visit, Shri V. Somanna, interacted with passengers, soliciting their feedback and suggestions regarding their requirements for upgraded amenities.
He also interacted with press and media persons during his visit. This direct interaction was aimed at gathering firsthand insights to drive effective improvements and ensure that future developments align with passenger expectations.
While interacting with the media at Jasidih station, near Deoghar, Shri V. Somanna, informed media persons that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is going to flag off 6 Vande Bharat Express trains on 15.09.2024 one of which will be from Deoghar to Varanasi Vande Bharat Express Train.
Thus, this new Vande Bharat Express train will connect two cities having Jyotirlinga temples that is Baidyanathdham at Deoghar in one side and Biswanathdham at Varanasi on the other.
This new train will be very helpful in augmenting the transport infrastructure at Deoghar as well as in Jharkhand. The Minister also informed media persons about the ongoing station redevelopment work at Jasidih at a cost of more than 200 Cr.
This redevelopment work at Jasidih which is the gateway to Baidyanathdham/ Deoghar is aimed at meeting the future requirement of increased traffic in this area. Spacious Car Parking, Yatri Nivas, Water Resource Management of the pond around Jasidih Station, and Beautification of the Station Concourse, all will come up in the future to meet the requirements of passengers as well as the local inhabitants.
The Hon’ble Minister also informed the Media that by 2026-27 Jasidih Station will become an iconic building of this area resembling Baidyanathdham Temple. The inaugural run of the first Vande Bharat train of this area will start its inaugural journey from Baidyanath Dham station on 15.9.2024 at 11:00 hrs.
The inspection focused on assessing the existing amenities and identifying areas for development to serve the needs of passengers better and also reflects the Railway's proactive approach towards enhancing the quality of rail travel & ensuring that passenger needs are met with efficiency and responsiveness.
