In a move to save people from Jharia underground mine fire, the state administration has decided to shift over 1000 families residing there to Belagaria Township.
The move is part of the ongoing rehabilitation efforts in response to the severe risks posed by the underground fire zone, considered a danger to the residents.
The way out is to shift these residents to safer zones Belagaria Township Quarters, said Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Managing Director of Jharia Rehabilitation and Development Authority (JRDA), Madhvi Mishra.
Mishra said that more than 1000 non-legal title holder (Non-LTH) families living in 81 fire-affected areas will be relocated to Belagaria Township on a priority basis.
