Yet again security forces thrashed Maoists in Chhattisgarh.As many as 14 Maoists were killed in an encounter with the state Police in Gariaband district at state's border with Odisha on Tuesday, according to reports flashed by news agencies ANI and PTI.
Inquiry revealed that bodies were being checked and as such tally can increase. The death of Maoists includes two women who were killed on Monday in the operation.
A Maoist carrying a bounty of ₹1 crore was also killed in the encounter, report quoting the police said, adding that encounter is ongoing.
Reacting to the encounter, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said it was ‘another might blow to ’Naxalism'. “Another mighty blow to Naxalism. Our security forces achieved major success towards building a Naxal-free Bharat.
The CRPF, SoG Odisha, and Chhattisgarh Police neutralised 14 Naxalites in a joint operation along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border. With our resolve for a Naxal-free India and the joint efforts of our security forces, Naxalism is breathing its last today,” Shah said in a post on X.
