Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar has congratulated the Piped band team comprising students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, East Singhbhum district for performing at the Kasturba Gandhi during the Republic Day celebrations on 26 January.

The Pipe Band Girls Team from PM Shri Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Patamda in Jharkhand showcased an inspiring journey of determination and achievement.

According to Ministry of Education (MoE) officials, the team has been practicing the pipe band for the past three years.

In the 2024-25 State-Level (Inter-District) School Band Competition held in Ranchi, the team claimed first place in the pipe band category, surpassing the previous year's champions and a strong Ranchi district team.

"Emerging from humble beginnings in remote villages, these determined young girls committed themselves to master the pipe band, braving freezing mornings and enduring long, grueling practice sessions with unwavering dedication,” a senior official said.

Among three schools chosen nationwide to perform on the rostrum at Kartavya Path, this Jharkhand school earned its place alongside schools from Tripura and Sikkim.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Education Minister Ramdas Soren, and other senior state officials have also congratulated the team on this remarkable achievement.

Notably, the Piper Band team from the school secured the first prize in the Zonal Level Band Competition held in Guwahati on 22 December 2024.

According to the school warden, the students had left for Delhi on Monday.

On the 76th Republic Day, these school girls who formed the Piped Band team, earned accolades and gained national attention of their superb performance.
