President Murmu on Saturday attended the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra in Ranchi.
As chief guest on the historic event, President Murmu addressed the platinum jubilee celebration function and louded the academic achievements of the BIT, Mesra.
In fact,BIT, Mesra has many firsts to its credit. It was the first in the country to establish a department dedicated to Space Engineering & Rocketry way back in 1964.
It was also the first to develop a Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park (BIT-STEP), on campus to instill the spirit of entrepreneurship in its students.

The prestigious platinum jubilee event marks 75 years of academic excellence, research, and technological innovation at the BIT, Mesra.
The President’s visit has prompted extensive security measures and changes to the Ranchi city's traffic system to ensure smooth proceedings.
The celebrations were held at BIT Mesra,14 km from Ranchi where President Murmu participated in the commemorative events on Saturday.
