In a shocking incident, two youths were lynched by villagers after they allegedly attempted to steal goats from a house in the Chakulia thana area, under the Ghatsila sub-division, about 70 km from Jamshedpur.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday. One of the youths, identified as Kinsuk Behera, died on the spot, while the other, Bhola Nath Mahto, succumbed to his injuries at MGM Medical College Hospital later.
The brutal incident occurred at Jorsa village, approximately 15 km from Chakulia police station and 70 km from Jamshedpur, around 2:30 a.m. today.
The two suspects, residents of Jeeerapara village in Chakulia, were caught attempting to steal two goats from a house. Upon catching them, the house owner alerted other villagers, who soon gathered and held the suspects captive.
The mob then beat them mercilessly with sticks, resulting in Behera’s death on the spot. After his death, the villagers stopped beating Mahto, but by then, it was too late.
