Tension has gripped Dumraon village under Ichak Block in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district where communal clashes between Hindu and Muslim communities took place on the day of Shivratri (Wednesday)and security forces were deployed to maintain law and order. 

However, normalcy prevailed on Thursday, police said.” We are keeping vigil over the miscreants”.  

According to the people, three people were arrested and search was on for many others for their involvement in violence after a clash broke out between two communities over the installation of speakers in Dumraon village during the Shivratri celebrations. 

The cause was attributed to hoisting of flags and setting up of loudspeakers for the Maha Shivratri festival. 

The incident, which happened at Hindustan Chowk, saw stones being thrown by both sides, resulting in several injuries. 

The clash led to violence as several vehicles and some shops were set on fire. Several people sustained injuries and were rushed to Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital for treatment.
