The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) Ranchi, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi, successfully organized Vidhaan 2025 – The Policy Triathlon.
This is the first time that the National Law University (NLU) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) have come together for such a large-scale event. Students from various prestigious universities across the country participated in this competition.
The event was jointly organized by the Kautilya Society of NUSRL and the Politics Club of IIM Ranchi. The closing ceremony was attended by Shri Ashutosh, Additional Advocate General (Jharkhand High Court), Prof. Dr. Ashok R. Patil, Vice-Chancellor, NUSRL Ranchi, and Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi.
What Made the Competition Special In this competition, 160 registrations were received for the Position Paper Submission Round, and the top 16 teams were selected from renowned universities across the country.
This was followed by the Policy Mastermind Quiz, which included questions on law, governance, Supreme Court decisions, and current affairs.
The third phase was the Live Policy Hackathon. The judging panel for the competition included Shri Shubham Kataruka (Associate, Hamurabi and Solomon Partners), Advocate Rishi Bharti (Jharkhand High Court), Dr. Jisu Ketan Pattnaik (Registrar, NUSRL Ranchi), Dr. Utkarsh Verma (Assistant Professor, NUSRL and Faculty Coordinator, Kautilya Society), Shri Shantanu Brij Choubey (Assistant Professor, NUSRL), and Dr. Krishna Kumar Dadsena (Assistant Professor, IIM Ranchi).

The Vice-Chancellor of NUSRL, Prof. Dr. Ashok R. Patil, congratulated all the participants and stated that such events strengthen competitive opportunities in the state.
He expressed hope that students from IIM and NUSRL will continue to organize such events in the future. Vidhaan 2025 is a testament to how law and management students can come together to shape governance models and influence policy-making.
