At least five persons, including three children, were burnt to death after a fire broke out at a firecracker shop in Jharkhand's Garhwa on Monday, report reaching Ranchi said.

The incident occurred at Godarmana Bazar in the Ranka police station area.

"Five persons were killed after a blaze erupted at a firecracker shop in Garhwa. Of these, three are children. We are investigating the incident," PTI quoted Garhwa SP Deepak Pandey as saying. 

Ranka SDPO Rohit Ranjan Singh said the fire broke out around 12.30 pm, while crackers were being sold on a wooden platform in the shop.
