BJP leader and former CM Raghubar Das Monday telephonically asked top brass of the police to get judicial inquire into incidents of violence in Giridih district on the day of Hindu festival Holi on March 14.

Now, will Hindu community will have to take permission to take out procession on the occasion of festivals?Road is not a private property of any community. No violence takes place in other community’s festivals.On every festival day of the Hindus, violence takes place. 

For the vote bank, government and administration must end balancing act.Release all those Hindus who were arrested immediately.” In fact, 22 people were arrested on Saturday for their involvement in a clash near Ghodthambha Chowk on Friday. 

The incident happened on Friday when a Holi procession of 15-20 people attempted to pass through a street where people from another community were praying. 

The situation had turned bad when the procession pushed forward, leading to violent retaliation with petrol bombs, bottles, and stones from the opposing side. 

The clash resulted in significant damage, including burned shops, vehicles, and bikes. A religious place was vandalised, and three police vehicles were damaged. Four policemen sustained injuries in the incident. 

Giridih SP Bimal Kumar confirmed that peace has been restored, with 22 arrests made so far. "Police have registered an FIR and investigation is ongoing," he said. 

According to the FIR lodged by magistrate Surendra Kumar Barnwal, 80 people have been named as suspects, with an additional 200-250 unknown individuals allegedly involved in the conspiracy. 

The FIR identifies 39 people from one community and 41 from the other. Security forces have been deployed in the area to maintain peace and prevent any further unrest. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to identify all individuals involved in the violence.
