CSIR-NML Jamshedpur celebrated the 13th Foundation Day of Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), organised by AcSIR-NML Science Club.
The inaugural function on Thursday( April 3,2025)was started with the lighting of lamp by the Guest of Honour, Prof. P.P. Chattopadhyay, Director, NAMIT Hatia Ranchi; Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Director, CSIR-NML; Dr. K.K. Sahu, Chief Scientist and Co-ordinator, AcSIR, NML; Mr. Roshan Kumar, President Science Club, AcSIR-NML.
The welcome address was delivered by *Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury*, Director, CSIR-NML. He briefed about the Journey of AcSIR at CSIR-NML, which aims to build a world class academic and research ecosystem for researchers.
Dr. Chowdhury mentioned the importance of the MoU between CSIR & AcSIR to bridge the gap between the research laboratory and industry to make it powerhouse of knowledge creation & technological transformation. He thanked all the students, alumni, facilities for their invaluable contribution on the global platform.
Guest of Honor, *Prof. P.P. Chattopadhyay*, Director, NAMIT Hatia Ranchi talked about space and scope of engineering research. He mentioned the diverging focus of industrial and knowledge sector to converge into a co-working eco-system only than there will be sustainable outcome.
Prof. Chattopadhyay emphasized on alternative and translational approach for converting knowledge to technology and synergistic and modular solution in research areas. We are nurturing knowledge but translating into product becomes difficult. This hindrance is a food for thought.
*Dr. K.K. Sahu*, Chief Scientist and Co-ordinator, AcSIR, NML shared insight into the achievements of AcSIR as a whole and AcSIR-NML too. He presented statistics highlighting the number of enrolments and graduates for the last 5 years. Dr. Sahu emphasized on the collaboration of AcSIR with international universities.
*Mr. Roshan Kumar*, President Science Club, AcSIR-NML informed about the technical session and poster presentation by the students of AcSIR. The feedback session and felicitation of Alumni were also the part of this function.
*Mr. Sukalpan Nandi*, Vice-President, Science Club, AcSIR, NML proposed the vote of Thanks.
CSIR was established as an Institution of National Importance by an Act of Parliament in 2010, formalized by a resolution of the Government of India on July 17, 2010, and notified in The Gazette of India on April 3, 2012.
