Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta, in a review meeting with officials of the Crime Investigation Department(CID), is on the move to move the appropriate court seeking issuance of warrant of arrest against functionaries of the Sahara India for its failure to refund fund of eligible depositors.

The CID has been investigating Sahara India case for long.Now, after a body called Vishwa Bharti Jansewa Institute filed a complaint against Sahara India’s ex chief and late Subroto Roy’s wife Sapna Roy, its Director Om Prakash alias O.P. Srivastava, Sahara India’s Jharkhand unit Director, Neeraj Kumar Poll and its Zonal Head Sanjiv Kumar among others.

Reports say over 30,000 investors from Jharkhand had deposited nearly Rs 40,000 crores. But they have not been paid matured amount till date.

According to Sahara India case status visible on search engine Google, ‘as of late February 2025, the Sahara India case saw ₹2,314.20 crore disbursed to 12,97,111 depositors, with each verified depositor eligible for a refund of up to ₹50,000, credited directly to their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.”
