The 13th Mahaadhiveshan (convention or general Body meeting) of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha passed a resolution electing Hemant Soren as President.

Hemant Soren was functioning as Acting President with his aging father Shibu Soren as President. With the JMM convention adopting this resolution, Hemant Soren succeeded Shibu Soren as its President.

 

Now, with Hemant Soren becoming President of the JMM, the main key to operate and lead the party rests on him.Due to health reason and his age( 81), Shibu Soren is designated as “ Founder Patron.”

The two- day event of the 13th Mahaadhiveshan concluded in Ranchi on Tuesday.

On the inaugural day, Shibu Soren arrived in a wheelchair.A photograph captured the moment, showing Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren standing behind his father and holding the wheelchair.

Shibu Soren’s wife, Roopi Soren, also attended the convention, arriving in a wheelchair as well.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren shared the image on social media, paying tribute to his father’s legacy. He wrote, “Not just Jharkhand, people across the country and the world look at respected Dishom Guruji with admiration.

The creation of a separate Jharkhand state was made possible through his leadership and the sacrifices of countless revolutionaries.”

Other notable political resolutions approved in the general body meeting of the JMM were: introduction of domicile policy based on 1932 Khatian( land ownership),oppose
delimitation of constituencies,demand from the Union government to approve Sarna Dharm for Adivasis, set up a body to pronote regional language and development of culture, and strengthen JMM across the country.

On his inaugural address, Hemant Soren, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, is on record saying , “We must nurture the grand tree of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, planted by Guruji, whose roots are embedded in every household of Jharkhand. It is our responsibility to honour the struggles of our pioneering leaders.”


CM Hemant Soren extended heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all JMM workers and supporters attending the event.
