Vinay Singh, the Jharkhand state president of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head on Sunday evening near Punjab Dhaba in Jamshedpur's Baliguma area.

A pistol was recovered from his left hand. Singh had been incommunicado since Saturday morning, prompting his family to file a missing complaint, after which police traced his mobile location and recovered the body.

Singh, along with a few others, was returning home when the gunmen opened fire near a hotel on National Highway-33, killing him on the spot, reported PTI, quoting a police official.

"Vinay Singh had left home in the morning. His family reported him missing. This evening, his body was found in a field nearby. A country-made pistol was found in his left hand, and his motorcycle was also recovered. The rest is a matter of investigation," said DSP Bachan Deo Kujur.
