If the police is to believed,nearly two hours of encounter with armed Maoists, security forces neutralised eight of the left wing ultras.
The encounter took place in forest areas inside the Lugu Hills of Lalpania area of the Bokaro district.
DGP Jharkhand Anurag Gupta is on record saying that security forces have neutralised 8 Maoists.
After the encounter ended,some Naxals fled from the scene and security forces claimed to have recovered arms, including four INSAS and one SLR, one AK series rifle, one Pistol and eight country-made Bharmar rifles.
According to the DGP,Gupta, the operation was carried out by Jharkhand Jaguar, police and CRPF. The encounter lasted for around 2 hours.
Naxalites who have fled towards Ramgarh district during the encounter are being surrounded at the outset of Lalpania Jageshwar, Bihar road. CRPF officials said that the firing has stopped, but search operations are underway, while there has been no injury reported to the forces.
