The 2nd K.N. Prasad Memorial Sports Tournament 2025 was officially inaugurated at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi. Hon’ble Justice Deepak Roshan of the Jharkhand High Court graced the event as the Chief Guest and declared the tournament open. On the same occasion, a newly constructed volleyball court for female students was also inaugurated.

The tournament is held in memory of Late Shri K.N. Prasad, father of Hon’ble Justice Roshan, to honor his notable contributions to the fields of law, education, and sports.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by NUSRL Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil, Assistant Registrar, Dr. Jisu Ketan Patnaik, along with faculty members, staff, and organizing committee members. Dr. Avinash Kumar and sports instructor Payal Tirkey have played key roles in overseeing the tournament's organization.

Scheduled from May 9 to May 16, 2025, the tournament is witnessing participation from reputed institutions, including Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University, YBN University, BIT Mesra, Birsa Agricultural University, and Chotanagpur Law College.

In a friendly match between NUSRL's teaching and non-teaching staff, the non-teaching staff secured an impressive victory by 8 wickets. Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University also won their opening match against Rai University.
